I know it's been a while...
Things have been rather hectic over the last month and are only just beginning to settle down for me now. I finished uni for this year a week and a half ago, good news being that I passed everything, I got a B+ average for the year actually and I'm quite impressed by that. My prac ended really well, which I am pleased about, it went so much better than the last one and I miss being there already, sometimes kids drive me nuts but when I look back, I had a really good time and I still want to be a teacher, so it can't have been all that bad.
I got an email from my associate teacher from while I was in Lawrence today, and he said that the work I did with the year 9 and 10 class before they went on camp really helped while they were there, it's good to hear that your work and you appreciated, especially if you have been feeling a bit down.
Which I must say I have been a bit of late, it's not really stuff about myself that has been bothering me but there have been some health issues in my family that I have been quite distressed about, I think things are beginning to look about now though, problems are being solved or at least becoming smaller and there is some good news. I'm really excited to be able to go back to my old high school and teach there for my first prac at the beginning of next year, a lot of my old teachers are still there, even though it's been 8 years since I left, it will be good to see them again and I can't wait to learn from the teachers that got me so interested in the subject I, myself will one day teach.
Things are getting better at work too, I've been offered an opportunity to work separately from everyone else when the renovations are completed, one of my managers spoke to me this morning to see if I would be interested, which I suppose I am, though I hope they plan to pay me some more money if they intend for me to think for myself. I don't mind being paid peanuts for work that doesn't require brain-power but if I have to start thinking for myself then I'm gonna need more of an incentive. The incentive for me getting up and starting work this morning was free breakfast and since I really, really like the breakfast suace on the bagels, it was hard to resist. Yes, I know I'm bad, normal people sleep at that time of the day, but what can I say, I'm far from normal!
So, what interesting things are going to happen for me in the near future, well, two of my best friends are getting married (to each other) this weekend, so on Saturday I have to attend a wedding and I have to wear a dress, if you're really lucky I might post a picture, but don't hold your breath. Then the weekend after that there be family coming to visit, like 4 of them I believe, which is a little scary, but unavoidable since we're not heading south for Christmas this year. There was no way I was going after the disaster of last year, hell no, I can live without a repeat of that, but Christmas is now only 3 weeks away, so I do have presents to look forward to and I really like presents.
Well, that's it for me, I can't think of anything else to write about, but I hope you're all jealous about my 2 month holiday, I'm so gonna enjoy it, the beach beckons. Oh, and Mornay, I'll call you on Christmas Day, so we can catch up!
