Two days in a row

The most exciting news that I have to report today, other than the fact that tomorrow is election day and therefore the school willbe closed, is that my last class failed to show up and therefore I got to finish work at 5.30 instead of 6.30, fun huh!
I think that about covers it.
Oh, and Kat is coming to visit at the end of next month, am allowed to take 2 vacation days, they won't let me take more than that at a time, so I will have to plan our time wisely - will be going to Seoul for a couple of days though, then will do some Gwangju stuff. She might have to wander around herself for a couple of days too.
Oh yeah, that's right, next Tuesday is also a public holiday, so I managed to worm my way into getting Monday off as well, so that I can have a 4 day weekend, not that I plan on doing a lot over those 4 days, it's just that I have 10 vacation days and I'm not allowed to take more than 2 at a time, I have a feeling that I'll be taking quite a few long weekends in the coming months.
Scott gets 2 days off next week to go to Japan for his visa, like Thursday and Friday, I think. I guess we both get 3 day teaching weeks. Though I still have to figure out when I am going to take my other 7 vacation days, may try for a long weekend around the time of my birthday.
We're supposed to be getting another teacher sometime in the next couple of months, but who knows when, or even if, that will happen. Well, now that I've totally bored everyone to death with my good news and hopefully made them a little jealous, I'll be off.

hi all

well, I must say that I am feeling much better today, was not at all well yesterday, may have drunk a little too much vodka, actually more like a lot too much vodka and was rather sick pretty much all day. Still went out with Nig and Van last night though, managed to get drunk by only spending ike 20,000 won and that includes buying food to go with it - found another place that make damn good sweet and sour, this one had apple orange and pear in it. Soju cocktails are so great, and these ones were really potent, they didn't have peach though - oh, and strawberry isn't very nice, the kiwifruit (kiwi, for non-NZers) was pretty good though.
Spent today not doing a lot, chatted to Kat for a while, who has been sick for the last few days. Watched a bunch of movies and did some x-stitch (almost finished another one, my 5th in less than a year - cool huh!). I had a pretty good boring, lazy Sunday, just the way I like them. Anyway, i should really be going to sleep as i have to be up again in like 7 hours. Talk to you all soon.

Okay, I'm bad ...

I've been incredibly lazy when it comes to updating, not usre why, but then again I did receive more books from Amazon on Monday and thus have doene little but read in my spare time since, am on to the last one already, yeah I know, I'm really bad.
It's beginning to get rather warm here, been more rain too, bloody humid atmosphere here!
Not a lot happening, went out last Friday night, drank half a beer then chucked for 2 hours, I believe it was the after effects of Thursday night soju drinking session, very bad stuff the next day, tastes great at the time though, you don't really notice what it's doing to you!
Otherwise had a pretty mild weekend. Not a lot happening this week either, am supposed to go to an amusement park on Saturday, but it supposed to piss down, the chances of us actually going aren't great. But am hooking up with Vanessa and Nigel on Saturday, as Vanessa loves Saki and I happened to mention that there is a Japanese bar like 1 minute walk from my apartment, so we're going to eat macaroni and cheese and drink Saki, fun huh!
Tomorrow is birthday party day for the kindergarten kids, and we've finally got tot he month where I get a break for about and hour and half instead of teaching constantly from 10.30 til 8.05, yey for me.
Actually got twice the number of questions right in Adam's quiz this week as I did last time he did one (last time 2, this time 4), but Nigel won and he only got 2 more than I did, which isn't too bad.
Okay, gonna get back to eating dinner now, Tang Soo Yook (Best Sweet and Sour ever), couldn't be bothered cooking, oh, and kat, when you notice that I'm not online again, it's because I'm reading!

Ok .....

so I'm bored, figured i should probably update anyway, has been a reasonably interesting week so far.
A bunch of people from my home town died ina fishing boat accident on Saturday, my our students triede to kill me, and I got my highest score in the quiz ever!
Yeah, Monday here was teachers day, so presents which is a good thing, but spraying me in the face with scented fake snow, guess what that caused ... Yep, you got it, a wonderfully fun asthma attack, which left me pretty much unable to talk Iand I know how some of you may believe that to be a good thing, but not when you're supposed to be teaching). Ended up having to walk home as didn't have enough air to bike up the hil, not a lot of fun, as walking is annoying, though will have to walk to meet everyone tonight as it is raining, apparently there are heavy storms on their way, am going to meet the other teacher from work for dinner and drinks, me did finish early tonight as it is Thursday.
So yeah the highest score I have ever gotten in a quiz last night, a whole six, but I am incredibly impressed that I remembered that heman said "By the power of grayskull, I am Heman" when he lifted his sword, who knew watching cartoons would be so useful;. Not that I've seen it since I was a kid, but it was one of Stephen's favourites.
Okay, well, I guess that is enought bullshit for today, except that everyone should have remembered to say Happy Birthday to Kat. I did, aren't I a good girl! But then again, her Birthday is Memorial Day here. In 1980 I believe there was a rather large uprising and a buunch of students died, so very important day to the people of Gwangju, anyways, I have to be going now, will try not to be so lazy and update more regularly!

I have been informed ....

that my blog is in need of an update, so Kat, herre I am, with the hangover from hell, updating for you just like I said I would!
So what has happened this week, well not a hell of a lot really, got 3 packages - books from amazon, salt and vinegar chips from mum and then clothes and shoes from mum too, I like getting packages.
Went to Chumdun for the quiz on Wednesday, which Scott won this week, I got the amazingly high score of 2 yet again, damn it was hard. Scott promised to make an easy one for next week, thank the gods for that too, getting such low scores makes me feel incredibly stupid when I know I'm not, they just don't tend to ask questions in my area of expertise.
Then last night we went to speak easys again, I must say live English music is a real treat, and I met 3 other Kiwi's, this girl came in wearing a Highlanders T-shirt and I was very excited, met an Aucklander too, and the Wellington chick from last week was there again too. Had an argument with some Australian dud who supports the Brumbies, he didn't like when I said the Highlanders were better than them, well we did beat them last week. He said at least they made it to the finals, can't wait to hassle him about the fact that they didn't, as they lost to the Crusaders last night and then the Sharks beat the Force, huh, I really like being right, I told him they wouldn't, he really should have believed me! Anyway, sometime during many hours I drank about 7 different types of alcohol that I remember, then got home at 5 this morning crawled into bede and stupidly forgot to drink a bottle of water before going to sleep, hence the hangover from Hell, so not going out tonight, well, I don't have any money to go out with anyway, good thing that Monday is pay day. Me is going to take another nap, later!

Butterfly festival

Here are two photos from the butterfly festival, one it the hill/mountain behind the festival itself that it covered with gardens the shape of butterflies. It's probably just a hill not a mountain, but it looks really steep and i wouldn't want to try to walk up it.
The second picture is of a butterfly tree, a tree that it covered in butterflies, I believe that they are fake, but hey who cares, it looked really cool anyways. That's all I really have to show as the battery in my camera died before I could get much else, was really annoying too.
Oh well, catch you all later,

thought it was time for a change

plus i am out of my mind with boredom, as all my NZ friends have logged of and my Overseas friends have yet to log on. Oh, by the way mum, saw the ad for the house, and oh my god! Good luck with selling it anyway, oh yeah and remember how you said how you didn't care about moving to below sea level, waht about the sunami warnign this morning that ended with the whole of Gisbourne going crazy for no reason and the civil defense getting the blame for not telling anyone there was going to be a sunami even though they never put an alert out in the first place and silly people listened to the international news. Me thinks it's funny.
Okay, I believe I have finished driveling on now, I just wish people would hurry up and come chat to me!

Time to update again ...

especially since Sarah has been complaining about the cold, funny thing, every since she left it's been starting to get really warm, today for example, swealtering heat, well after the cold we had before.
I am sitting here drinking a glass of this really nice wine that I have recently discovered and thanking the gods that I don't have to go to work tomorrow seeing as it is Children's Day and all schools are cold, the heat of the past few days has been extremely tiring, plus we had a Kindergarten field trip this morning, went to the Hyam Pysung Butterfly festival, there will be pictures at a later date, as the battery in my camera died and is curretnly charging. Was pretty cool, but way too hot, also almost everything was in hothouses, which made it twice as hot and stuffy, we all nearly died. The whole area arounf Hyam Pysung is decorated with butterflies, the flower gardens along the road side are shaped like butterflies and there is even a rather large hill, almost a mountain, that has butterflies all over it.
Oh, we are also thinking about taking a trip to Africa in July, well if this happens I will not be coming home as previously planned, but I will home to finish uni in 7 months anyway, what difference will it make if peple don't see me for 4 more months, and it's Africa, a place much cheaper to travel to from Asia than from New Zealand.
Scott and I skipped Billboard last night, we had a really early start this morning as Hyam Pysung is like an hour away from Gwangju, Scott is sick and i didn't really want to pay to go over and back bymyself, there is less than a fortnight til the next payday which means, as usual, I have spent most of my money and am trying not to do things that cost money.
i believe that pretty much covers what has happened recently as you don't really want to know about the drinking game we played on Saturday, that ended in total drunkeness or that fact that some crazy Korean broke the door to our friends school in Shinga Gigu, as their appartments are on top of it.
Okay, later all.
