She has finally arrived!

Thought it was about time that I updated. So yeah, Kat arrived after all even though she didn't call be before she got on the bus like I thought she was going to do. I was only thinking of all the things that could have happened to her in the 4 hours it took her to get to Gwangju, so anyway, she is here and reading already, only took 2 hours! And she will have most of tomorrow to read some more since I shall be at work.
Nothing much has happened, had a pretty boring weekend, doing whatever possible to avoid spending money, basically I never left my apartment, also pissed down on Sunday, so who want to go out in that kind of rain, the rain here is different to the rain at home!
Well, that about covers it, you probably won't get anythign from again until about Sunday, as tomorrow night we shall go to Billboard and then on Thursday we head to Seoul, to go see things and for me to go to a doctor that speaks English, so I don't have to rely on a very unreliable director of teachers to get me much needed asthma medication, yey, should be able to breathe properly again soon!

So I've been a little distracted this week ...

well, 15 new books did arrive on Monday and so I had to read the most important ones, all 5 of them, they being the latest Dark-Hunter novel, Dark Side of the Moon, another very good read from Sherrilyn Kenyon, then the 2 latest Betsy books my Mary Janice Davidson, totally hilarious, after that the latest Sookie Stackhouse by Charlaine Harris, then just for something different (as in no vampires) the final book in a historial fiction trilogy by Posie Graeme-Evans, she writes pretty well for an Australian (but when I think about it so do John Marsden and Bryce Courtenay). So now those are all read I have then entire Rebecca York Were series to get through and I have completed the Janet Evanovich Steph Plum Series, which are also very good. Man, I love books, don't ask me how I'm going to get them all back to NZ, but I am one of amazons best customers, they should really start giving me discounts. Though I am very happy that the new Anita book and the new Steph book should be shipped around Tuesday, so yey!
Not a lot else has been happened as I've closeted myself away reading, we went on a field trip to the Science Museum yesterday, that was okay, but the ball pit in the Kids play room was the most fun thing, well that and this thing that simulated a tornado, or whirlpool considering it was done with water, got a good picture will try to remember to post it next blog.
In other exciting news, Kat will be here in 4 days, yes thats right 4 days, and I only have to work 3 days next week, so on that happy note, I shall leave you all to it!
Oh yeah, and Mornay you should really get to it, you don't want me to beat you now do you!

Now I have something to complain about

I went to buy me some new Sketchers today, was so happy,, until I found out that they the biggest size they sell in Korea is size 8 and I need size bloody 9s, so I now have a pair of white, purple and pink Nikes, as they were the only pair of shoes I could find in my size that I didn't totally hate, it took like 5 goes before they had shoes I wanted and were the right size, the guy had to go up and down the stairs 5 times (stupid people with small feet). aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!
On an up note, I found the travel agent who speaks English, only took me 45 minutes! Booked my flights to Taipei in August, will be arriving there at 11am (Taiwan time) on Saturday August 5th, the leaving at 12.15pm on Thursday August 10th, will definitely be catching the 8-15am flight from Kinmen to Taipei (so Kat please take note of this and tell Tina). I am flying China Airlines (but on a Korean Air plane), all the flights on Korean Air were booked up for the 4th, 5th and 6th, but China Airlines was cheaper anyway - go figure!
Kat, good news, booked our DMZ tour, bad news, we are leaving for it at 8am, be glad that the departure point is less than 5 minutes walk from where we will be staying in Seoul. So, I've basically spent half of my pay in 2 days, fun huh!
It is also damn hot here today, so glad my aprtment doesn't get any direct sunlight, so it is nice and cool in here, thank the gods for that too.

Thought of something else ...

yey, today was payday! Went shopping at Teen Star, man I love stationary, didn't spend that much really, only 30,000 won, it was fun! Oh yeah, and Sarah if you think I'm afraid of you you're deranged, come after me and I'll scwish you like a bug. I'll damn well, attack any bloody city I feel like attacking, I may start with Athens! And if you try to send me to Tartarus, you will be able to get to know Hades very well, while you wait for me to arrive myself!

Just a short one

I have to go back to work again soon, as we are going out for dinner, one of our Korean teachers is finishing up tomorrow, which we (meaning Scott and I, as we don't speak Korean and that's pretty much all that they speak) only found out about yesterday, although she handed in her notice a month ago. We are devasted by this occurrance as Ellie is the only teacher who actually talks to us, well pretty much, and understand pretty much everything we say too, so I will be going back to not talking to other people a lot, as I won't have anyone to talk to, I think Scott gets a bit sick of talking to me, as I am pretty much the only one who understands his accent completely when he is speaking a work.
Other than this not a lot has happened, went to Bilboard last night, where a grand total of 4 people showed up, Nig, Lindsay, Scott and I, really interesting that was, what is the point in spending 12,000 won on taxis if no one is going to show, we believe it has something to do with the world cup, plus it pissed down with rain yesterday, but the last time we went only 6 people showed up, so that's not much better.
We're going to see X-men 3 on Sunday (sorry Kat, we can go again when you come to visit, which is now only 12 days away, yey!), and going out for lunch too, so all good.
Well, that about covers it, except that I feel the need to complain that my amazon books are so taking more than 3 weeks to get here, not nice, it's usually only 2. I mean I ordered some stuff from a different site in the US last Tuesday and it arrived yesterday. That is hardly fair, eeeeerrrrrrrrrrr!
Later.

My vacation dates have changed

They decided to go and change my vacation dates on me, and they are shorter than they originally told me too. So I will be going to Taiwan on August 5th, not July 29th, and will only be able to stay until the 10th, and that's with taking an extra day, but they will only have to cover 3 of my classes, as kindergarten gets the whole week off, where as hogwand only gets 3 days. So these are the new plans, and they had better be the final plans too.
That will be all for today.

A rather uneventful weekend so far

Spent most of the weekend at Vanessa'a looking after her dogs Gizmo and Apollo, which would have been a lot more fun had Apollo not decided to wake me up everytime I went to sleep over the last few nights, was so annoyed this morning that I got up, got dressed and fed them at 6am, so that I could come home and get some sleep, was home by 6.30 taxi's go fast when there isn't much traffic. There was a huge storm yesterday afternoon though, all of a sudden there was thunder and lightning and it was pissing down with rain, only lasted about 20 minutes, but had Apollo hiding under a blanket while Gizmo stood at a window and watched it, he seemed quite enthralled.
So, came home early this morning and slept for 6 glorious hours non-stop, was incredibly enjoyable. Unfortunately I have to go back to work tomorrow, which is a bugger but Kat will be arriving in 16 days so yey, and I will get an extra 2 days off that week with us going to Seoul so also yey, oh yeah should really remember to book the DMZ trip, a very good idea.
Okay, I guess that's all I have to say today, other than the All Blacks definitely didn't deserve to win last night, from what I have read they didn't play particularly well and had to resort to illegal tactics to win, not a good thing. Later!

Bored, everyone has gone and left me

everyone has gone to Seoul this weekend, apparently they all got paid before me, so I am at Van's looking after Apollo and Gizmo, might take them out for a walk soon, if I can find their leashes that is (well, I just foind one, but I probably need 2). Scott has gone to Japan to get his visa, but no one bothered to check when Japanese holidays are so he is stuck there until Tuesday as yesterday and Monday are Public Holidays and the consulate is closed, silly director.
Had an argument with director of foreign teachers on Thursday, with Scott away she wanted me to teach extra classes, which was fine by me except that she asked me at 2:00 on Thursday if I would work late, to teach Postcards 2, except she didn't really ask me, she more like demanded saying it was my responsibility, I said I would mind so much had she asked me the previous day, they had known for more than a week that Scott wasn't going to be there, and I had made plans for dinner with some people, we were going to meet at 7, so I called and cancelled right, as I was going to teach the extra class and she ended up calling the kids and telling them not to bother coming as they had no teacher and I got to go home at 6.30, man was I annoyed.
But Kat arrives in 16 days and I will have 2 days off while she is here so that is exciting right.
All in all it has been a pretty uneventful week, thought I did enjoy only having to work 3 day, didn't particularly enjoy teaching Kitty and Tweety together in kindergarten, Lora has been a pain in the butt, but am not allowed to murder her, damn shame really, told her not to do something 10 times and she did it anyway, she has since lost her playground priviledges for a whole week. Important note: Don't piss Karyn Teacher off on Fridays, hell my hogwand classes know and understand the consequences why can't the kindergarteners.
So if you read this won't be available of googletalk until I get home tomorrow but Van has msn, so I am logged on to that if anyone wants to chat! Later dudes.

Well, excuse me miss moany pants

I updated yesterday, I have been updating every 3 days on average, and since I don't have much to do other than complain, and we chat on MSN most days, I don't find it absolutely necessary to bore everyone with the fact I bought I a rice cooker taody.
Oh, by the way can you tell that I'm a little grumpy today! There were a lot of people making a lot of noise until about 5am this morning so I got maybe 3 hours sleep last night. I mean, nothing particularly exciting happened at school today, except for the fact the the doctor Chesly went to, spparently cancelled the perscrition he wrote for my inhaler because it is apparently too dangerous to use, so here I am having asthma attacks almost daily and I have absolutely nothing to prevent them, and won't have anything to prevent them until I go home, and I have warned her that without it I am almost guaranteed to get sick and won't be able to come to work. I'm not sure whether I believe what she said or not, but I am going to Seoul in 3 weeks and there is an English clinci there, it will cost a bomb but I shall try to get some medication. Will also make my director pay for it. If worst comes to worst, I can probably get what I need in Taiwan next month, but I have a feeling it will be too late by then.
I hope miss moany pants is happy because I'm not gonna update for at least a week now, as I am in a spiteful mood now, which is kind of ironic as miss moany pants is the goddess of spite, not me!

Not so sick today, thank the gods

Though not being sick is kind of surprising considering how much soju I drank last night. Had good time though, met some other foreigners who live in this area, and actually work really close to where we work too. So that's good. went out to dinner with Vanessa and her friend Nicole, who is visiting from the US, walked around Sangmu for a bit, before meeting everyone else at the soju bar and drinking a great deal of soju, damn glad that it's so cheap, why can't alcohol, or good alcohol be that cheap in NZ.
And no mum, package still has not arrived, but today is a public holiday, so hopefully it will come tomorrow. More books from amazon shipped too, so Kat should actually have one of the books you wanted before you arrive here, in 3 weeks, yeah, three weeks from today, yey!
Nothing else interesting has occurred in my ever so boring life, so I will leave at that for today, and say that it is a bugger that I have to go back to work tomorrow.

Sick, sick, sick, so very sick

If you haven't already guessed, I am sick, a bloody head cold, so I'm up in clouds most of the time, I know most of you will think, what's new but well ....
Anyway, it id definite Kat is coming to visit and she will be here on June 27th, that's like 24 days from today, so yey! And my tickets to Taiwan are being booked as we speak too, and I'm heading there on July 29th, so yey! Almost a birthday trip but not quite, may have to use up some more vacation days around my birthday, may take the 14th off, as the 15th is already a public holiday. It will be like I've done this weekend, so I have a 4 day weekend and only have to take one day off work to have it. I like this.
I know there is a week in October too, when there are 4 public holidays, will take the 5th day off and might go to Taiwan to visit Kat again, as the airfares are so cheap, who knows, guess I will probably need a long weekend in September too. Still won't use up all my vacation days, but hey, I will get a long weekend every month until I finish my contract!
Anyway, I'm babbling, probably coz I don't have that much to say, well, we did have our English festival at school yesterday, it wasn't the complete disaster that I had envisioned, but I bet my Get Together 2 class is kicking themselves for not listening to me, when I told them what they should do for their play "Puss in Boots". Everyone else did reasonably well though. I'm just glad they didn't try to drag Scott and I up there to perform, that would not have been good.
Scott and I did go out for Korean BBQ after work though and damn was it good, cost us 18,500 won for 2 main dishes and some beer - the main dishes included like 5 different kinds of salads and kimchi too, it was great, I don't understand why they give you so much food for so little here and at home it would cost at least twice as much.
Okay, I've babbled enough now, I'm going to take a nap, and Mum, if you read this I have been trying to call, why don't you turn on the answering machine when you go out?
