Earthquake! Earthquake!

In case you haven't already guessed there has been an earthquake today. Well, 2 actually, one just after 6pm and another about 5 minutes ago. So, for once it has been a rather interesting day, a whole lot of shaking going on really. The weird thing is that you pretty much never feel earthquakes in this part of the country, and two in one day is highly unusual.
Yesterday was actually pretty interesting too, it was Dad's 50th birthday, so there was a lot of drinking going on. We had a BBQ at Mum and Dad's place, my grandmother and aunt came up from Invers and quite a few other friends came over too. It was a nice night, not too cold for a change (yey! the weather is finally getting better.), we ate lots of food, drank lots of alcohol and watched a bit of rugby (which we of course won by like 80 points). The only scary thing was a drunk guy who kept bugging me to do dishes, when there weren't any dishes to do and told me that I need to know about all about gold being found in Gabriel's Gully, since I am going to be teaching in Lawrence at the end of next month. He just wouldn't give up, so I turned into my usual pain in the ass self and frustrated the hell out of him, he did give up and leave me alone eventually. (And I helped to build part of a shed too, aren't I a good girl! - don't laugh!)
And the Chocolate cake that I made for dessert ended up being really really good, I wonder if there is any left. Knowing my luck, probably not.
Anyways, I think that covers all the interesting things that have happened over the last few days.

So, what has been happening you might ask?

Well, not a great deal actually. Have basically been studying, working and sleeping. Need quite a bit more of that last thing too. The good news is that I finished my last assignment at about 2am this morning, the bad news is that I had to get up early so it was handed in by 10am.
So, now there are only 3 weeks left of class, 4.5 weeks until my exam and 5 weeks until I start prac, what fun! Now I just have a bunch of study to get done, wonder how much I can cram into my brain about classroom management and discipline, guess we'll find out soon.
Um, in other related news, it's Dad's 50th birthday this weekend, so there will be some family coming to visit and I now know whether I am getting a niece or a nephew, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to tell anyone, so if you want to know you'll have to call me and ask, and I might tell you.
I think that pretty much covers all the interesting things that have happened recently. Though I will say, Happy Birthday for tomorrow Mark. And, man, is my life boring as hell at the moment, maybe I need to adopt some pet Hamsters like Kat did, just so that I have something to write about in here.

What's going on?

No one is updating, no one is on MSN and no one has called their friends like they are supposed to!
Some suggested advice, Kat stop playing bloody WOW and pay attention to the fact that I have been trying to talk to you for more than a week! And Sarah, just because it's cold in the study, it doesn't mean you shouldn't update. Also have you finished all my books yet coz I want them back soon please, as I've had a request for one of them.
Ok, I'm done telling everyone off now, well for a while anyway, that may however change.
And Mornay, you can stop laughing now.

Damn this computer is so slow

Am using one of the uni computers and the network is just so god damn slow it's not funny. It took 5 minutes just to log on to this damn thing.
So, what's new you might ask. Well, not a whole damn lot actually, I'm still sick, this damn cold still won't go away. I'm still trying to sort out all that crap with those government departments and I have absolutely no idea what the hell is going on, am totally confused and no one else in those departments seem to know either. Word of advice, don't ever try to get any useful information from the government, it's a pointless exercise!
The weather went back to being freezing again for a couple of days, -1 last night, so not fun. I did, however, pass 2 assignments, even got an A on one. Um, it seems my little niece or nephew, we should find out which this month, will be due sooner than we expected, so probably late January ot early February. Mum found some cool baby stuff, that should drive my brother insane, so all good there.
Work is ok, better than the evil Pak'n'Slave anyway. Plus I got rostered on for 2 closes this week and the second one is tonight so I have a 4 day weekend as I'm not working all weekend and I have no classes on Friday or Monday, the better news is that it will be the same next week.
Oh, and Kat, this is the last hint I'm giving you. It's your turn to call and I strongly advise that you do so, like last Monday.
